Aonach Aonach is a modern self catering bungalow situated at the south end of Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands. The house is located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and also in the area used as "Glenbogle" in the filming of the popular BBC series, "Monarch of the Glen" Drumguish is a quiet hamlet of some 12 houses, just ½ a mile off the B970 road from Kingussie to Insh. The road to Drumguish carries no through traffic. There are many country walks through moor and woodland to be enjoyed from the doorstep and wildlife abounds, with deer, red squirrels, rabbits and birds of prey all nearby. In winter you may be lucky enough to see waxwings in the nearby fields or, in summer a cuckoo. As a result the house offers the ideal setting for an "away-from-it-all" holiday and is equally well placed as a centre from which to explore all the leisure and recreational pursuits available close at hand. The house is fitted with off-peak storage heaters in the hall and dinette for background heat and the off peak system also heats the water overnight. All off peak heating is included in the price. In addition, the lounge, bedrooms and drying room are fitted with electric convector heaters which, with the other electricity used, are charged as an extra by £1 coin meter. A small initial supply of coal is provided for the open fire along with a supply of logs. Kingussie - 3 miles distant, offers a selection of shops, first class restaurants, bars, cafes and hotels, a laundrette, bank and building society agencies.Sporting facilities include pony trekking, tennis, bowls and golf on a scenic and challenging 18 hole course. Aviemore - 12 miles away, is an internationally known holiday village with discos, hotels and restaurants. Drumguish is also near the Cairngorm Ski area, some 17 miles away and is within an hour's drive of Scotland's newest ski area at Aonach Mor, near Fort William.
